76-year-old Koos Dreyer was found dead at his home in Groblersdal in Limpopo on Friday night.
Lt.kol. Police spokesman Moatshe Ngoepe said Dreyer’s body was found in a pool of blood in his home late that night. He had several wounds on his body.
However, it is unknown what he was attacked. According to Marius Müller, the national operational coordinator of AfriForum, Dreyer’s body was found in a bathroom in the house.
Müller said according to the information they received, there were signs of a struggle in the garage, TV room and bathroom. There were apparently no signs of violent entry.
“AfriForum offers victim support and has also arranged for the cleaning of the murder scene,” Müller said.
Ngoepe said the exact circumstances of the incident are still unclear and the investigation is ongoing.
“The police have started a large-scale search for the suspect (s).”
