Gauteng police are on the trail of suspects after a man was shot in the leg during an attack on a smallholding in the vicinity of Muldersdrift on Friday night.
Capt. Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo said on Saturday morning that the man heard a noise at the front door in the living room around 20:00 after which he suddenly noticed four armed suspects.
According to Masondo, the man was shot in the leg below the knee after which the suspects stormed into the house and looted.
Two cellphones, a television, a DVD player, and a wallet were looted before the suspects fled.
The victim was taken to a hospital for medical treatment after the incident, Masondo said.
Police are appealing to people to report any information that could lead to the arrest of suspects at the nearest police station or the Stop Crime number on 08600 10111.
A case of attempted murder and house robbery is being investigated.
