A 56-year-old teacher’s body was found in her house in Ganyesa, outside Vryburg in the North West, on Monday. She was apparently strangled with a rope.
Lt.col. Police spokeswoman Amanda Funani said the teacher’s colleagues came across her body that morning.
“After she did not show up for school on Monday morning, her colleagues went to look for her. That’s when they found her lifeless body on her bed, ”says Funani. Marks on her neck make the police suspect that she was strangled with a rope.
Funani says the motive for the murder is not yet known.
Police are currently investigating the murder case. No one has yet been arrested in connection with the murder.
Lt.Gen. North West Provincial Commissioner of Police Sello Kwena condemned the incident. He says police are working tirelessly to catch the culprit.
